Have Something Done 做某事

The verb ‘have’ can be used in certain structures to talk about somebody doing something. Do you know how to use them? 動詞 ‘have’ 可以用在某些結構中來談論某人正在做某事。 你知道如何使用它們嗎? Can you complete the following sentences using the correct structure? 你能用正確的結構完成下列句子嗎? You need to use the words in brackets and the correct verb forms to give the answer. Show that someone else does the action, not the subject of the sentence. 你需要使用括號中的單詞及正確的動詞形式給出答案。要顯示是其他人做該動作, 而定不是句子中的主語。 1. Don’t drill the wall in the evening. You’ll have ____ about you if you go on doing that (neighbours/complain) 2. You’ve caught the flu. I’ll have ____ you an injection in a moment. Take the medicine as instructed and you’ll recover in a few days. (nurse/give) 3. The window is broken. ~ I’ll have ____ as soon as possible. Grammar Notes 文法筆記 The verb ‘have’ can be used in the following structures, showing someone else doing something: 動詞 ‘have’ 可以用在以下結構中,表示其他人在做某事: (1) have something DONE (2) have someone DO something (3) have someone DOING something Have Something DONE This structure is used when we tell, pay or instruct someone else to do something for us. We do not do the action; something else does the action. 當我們告訴、支付或指示他人為我們做某事時,就可以使用這種結構。我們不做這個動作; 是別人做這個動作。 • The house was redecorated last month. We had all the walls repainted and the floor retiled. • I had got toothache. Last week, I plucked up my courage and had the bad tooth extracted. • 房子上個月重新裝修。我們重新粉刷了所有的牆壁,重新鋪設了地板。 • 我牙痛。上週,我鼓起勇氣拔掉了壞牙。 This structure can also be used to show something unfortunate happening to the subject. 這種結構也可以用來顯示不幸事件發生在句子的主語身上。 • Peter had his car stolen last night. • The poor soldier had his legs blown off during the war. • 彼得昨晚的車被偷了。 • 可憐的士兵在戰爭中被炸斷了腿。 Have Someone DO Something This structure is used when we instruct someone else to do something for us. We do not do the action; something else does the action. 當我們指示他人為我們做某事時,就可以使用這種結構。我們不做這個動作; 是別人做這個動作。 • The officer had the driver write down his name and telephone number. • The car had some problems, so I had the mechanic fix it for me. • 警官讓司機寫下他的姓名和電話號碼。 • 這輛車有一些問題,所以我讓機械師幫我修好了。 Have Someone DOING Something This structure is used to refer to intended or unintended results. 此結構用於顯示預期或非預期的結果。 • The movie had the audience laughing till the end. • The insomnia had me turning and tossing all night. • 這部電影讓觀眾笑到最後。 • 失眠讓我徹夜輾轉反側。 Answer and Analysis 答案與分析 Have Someone DOING Something 1. Don’t drill the wall in the evening. You’ll have the neighbours complaining about you if you go on doing that. (neighbours/complain) Have Someone DO Something 2. You’ve caught the flu. I’ll have the nurse give you an injection in a moment. Take the medicine as instructed and you’ll recover in a few days. (nurse/give) Have Something DONE 3. The window is broken. ~ I’ll have the window fixed as soon as possible. (window/fix) Note the difference between the following two sentences. 注意下面兩句的區別。 • I’ll have the window fixed tomorrow. 我明天找人修好窗戶。 • I’ll fix the window tomorrow. 我明天修好窗戶。
